Sixth Annual Amateur Gingerbread House Competition »
The City of Chicago is known for being a destination for foodies of all types but it’s never truly been this delicious. For Pastry Chicago’s Sixth Annual Gingerbread Competition, we invite you to go beyond traditional cottages and create tasty skyscrapers, museums, public spaces, and other landmarks from around Chicago that would make Hansel and Gretel drool. Fashion your best gingerbread recipe and sweet decorations into your favorite, iconic Chicago destination for a chance to win the best baking equipment from KitchenAid.
All contestants and attendees will be able to enjoy an educational demonstration by a Chef Instructor from The French Pastry School of Kennedy-King College. If you’d like to attend without competing, please RSVP for the event by writing to info@pastrychicago.org with your name, email, and phone number.

Fifth Annual Amateur Haunted Cupcake Competition »
Wicked treats will abound at the Fifth Annual Amateur Haunted Cupcake Competition. Do you think you’re a scary good baker and decorator? Come test your skills and celebrate this ghoulish time of year in Pastry Chicago’s fun-filled competition at Old Orchard Mall’s Harvest Fest. Along with great shopping, you’ll have a chance to sink your fangs into a delicious demonstration by a Chef Instructor from The French Pastry School.

First Annual Amateur Brownie Competition »
Do you like your brownies cakey or fudgy? Do you flavor them with melted chocolate or rich cocoa powder? Do you serve them with frosting or without? There are so many ways to make a brownie and this year’s First Annual Amateur Brownie Competition will highlight the classic combination of coffee and chocolate. Sign up your favorite recipe for a chance at great prizes from KitchenAid; learn from a demonstration by The French Pastry School Chef Instructor, Scott Green; and take part in the fun at Esperanza Community Services’ 2011 Holiday Art and Gift Fest.
This year’s Brownie Competition is part of a Fundraiser for Esperanza Community Services. Each contestant and spectator is required to make a $20 contribution in order to enter the event.

Fourth Annual Pie Competition »
Join Pastry Chicago and the California Raisin Marketing Board at Whole Foods Market Lincoln Park on September 17th for the fourth annual competition! If you haven't yet tried pairing delicious California Raisins with your favorite fruit pie, or inventing an entirely new recipe, now is your chance to do that, and compete for great prizes provided by KitchenAid and The French Pastry School.
All are welcome to attend the demonstration, RSVP to info@pastrychicago.org. The first 25 entries will be accepted for the competition.

Pastry Chicago in collaboration with Sixteen at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, will host a Pastry Crawl featuring culinary talents of Executive Pastry Chef Sarah Kosikowski. Join Sarah on a tour of her pastry kitchen, for a dessert demonstration and a tasting of several pastries.
