Rebirth of New Orleans Restaurant Industry Exhibit

Kendall College invites you to a reception
featuring the Southern Food and Beverage Museum's
"Rebirth of New Orleans Restaurant Industry Exhibit"

The reception is on Monday, 27 August, at Kendall College from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.  Kendall's
New Orleans' chef, William Alexander, is preparing a sampling of New Orleans cuisine.  Guests are being encouraged to bring menus with southern themes or cuisines from around the country to donate to SOFAB for display in its permanent exhibit in New Orleans.

The exhibit explores the scope of devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans' restaurant industry in the days, weeks, and months after the storm.  It also focuses on the obstacles chefs have overcome, the restaurants that have been lost and the importance of this industry to the recovery of the city's economy, culture and singular cuisine.  The exhibit will be featured at Kendall starting Monday, Aug. 27 through Sept. 21 at Kendall College, 900 N. North Branch St., Chicago, Illinois.  After Kendall, the exhibit will be displayed at the James Beard House in New York.
