Tour of Turano Baking Company

On January 9 2008, we had the rare opportunity to be hosted and given a tour of Turano Bread Company at the Berwyn facility by the Turano family.  On our two-hour adventure, we were walked through every stage of the bread baking process and saw several lines of products. The smells were intoxicating.  We were surprised to see the amount of hand-shaping and care that goes into each loaf.  Equally impressive was the speed with which they finished the bread, ready to deliver to stores within 24 hours, guaranteeing a fresh product to each customer.  At the end of our tour, we were graciously treated by the Turano chef who prepared several delights for us using their signature products.  No one left hungry or empty-handed.  You should have been there!

 

We want to thank Turano for their multi-generational dedication to artisan bread baking.  They are a proud asset to Chicago and the industry as a whole. We hope they will open their doors to us again. See you at the next event!
